Bridge — Washi: The Laundry Availability System. Our final design targets a retrofit sensor module that attaches externally to existing washers or dryers in shared residential laundry rooms and a platform that provides real-time availability updates to users remotely.
Canal — P.I.L.O.T - Precision Indoor Localization & Offline Tracking: GPS signals and cellular connectivity often fail in in complex underground/indoor environments, leaving users and assets lost in areas where where traditional navigation is unavailable. P.I.L.O.T leverages a decentralized network of BLE beacons and localized trilateration algorithms to provide high-precision positioning without requiring a internet connection.
Colossus — Wayfinder: A solution that expands on a traditional GPS by allowing you to navigate not just point to point but also peer to peer to prevent hikers and campers from getting lost.
Dam — GlareShield Glasses: Designed to eliminate temporary blindness due to glare, GlareShield Glasses actively detect and dim blinding glare in real-time while keeping the rest of your environment perfectly clear.
Gardens — Wildlife intrusion on farms poses a significant threat to crops and livestock, often resulting in costly damage and loss.
The Solution: an autonomous wildlife detection system that uses a ground-mounted geophone to sense approaching animals, triggering a radar module to verify the intrusion. Upon confirmation, a real-time alert is transmitted to the user.
Pyramid — Our group project, TaskBuddy, is a hybrid AI productivity companion designed to combat distraction and improve focus. It combines software-based user activity monitoring (e.g., screen usage, behavior detection) with a physical desk robot that provides real-time feedback and reinforcement. By integrating AI-driven task planning, gamification, and distraction prevention mechanisms, the system encourages users to initiate tasks and maintain focus during critical early work periods
Statue — StrideIQ is a wearable-based running gait analysis system designed to provide real-time, accessible insights into a runner's biomechanics. By leveraging IMU sensor data streamed over BLE to a mobile device and cloud platform, StrideIQ identifies key gait characteristics such as asymmetry, stride consistency, and impact patterns.
Our goal is to bridge the gap betwen expensive, lab-based gait analysis and everyday training by delivering continuou, data-drive feedback in real-world environments.
Temple — HeatSense: A kitchen stove safety system that uses a thermal imaging camera and PIR motion sensor to detect unattended cooking. The system monitors stovetop temperature in real-time using a Waveshare 80x62 IR sensor and triggers alerts when a hot stove is left unattended, helping prevent kitchen fires.
Tower — CurbSight: Smart Parking Availability System
Tunnel — When leaving home in a rush, people often forget important everyday items like phones, keys, wallets, or water bottles. The solution: a home reminder tagging system that utilizes wireless transmitters and receivers to detect when tagged items are left behind, alerting the user in real time before leaving. Our final product will include a convenient keychain-sized tag for users to place on essential items and a user-friendly touch-screen display to ensure users will never forget what they need.
Waterworks — This project is a device to send location data to selected contacts in the case of emergency in high-density urban environments. At the press of a button, your location and time data will be sent as coordinates and GPS information that will be communicated to emergency contacts, that way in the case of an emergency people can be notified of your location and help you in real time.
